With over 15 years of experience in the construction and waterproofing industry, Shawn brings his knowledge of helping to run the family business to his own business. He has close working relationships with many sub-trades and has many contacts he rely upon from his membership with the Durham Region Homebuilders Association. Life changed for him when in 2014 his father, whom he was extremely close with, passed away. His Father’s ideals carry forward with Shawn and he wants to run his business in a way that his Dad would be proud of. His ancestry is both Belgian and Dutch.
Shawn is both university and college educated, he is a licensed carpenter, and also has certifications in WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Trench Shoring, CPR/First Aid. As a life-long learner, Shawn is always looking to keep abreast of the latest technology in the area of construction and waterproofing and he ensures his staff is as well. He prides himself on offering his customers the latest technology appropriate for the renovation.
Shawn has a natural grasp for commercial, residential and industrial building codes for the construction industry and he shares his wealth of knowledge with his customers, priding himself on educating them about their homes. Shawn’s leadership style is such that he and his team worked together to build the company into what it is today. In his free time, Shawn enjoys spending time at the cottage, and hanging out with family and friends.
With over 8 years of experience in the industry, Chris has extensive experience with major renovations. Chris and Shawn have a long history of working together on a variety of construction and waterproofing jobs, such as full basement renovations, decks, fences, and bathroom and kitchen remodels. Chris puts the customer budget as a priority as he tries to save costs wherever possible, such as re-using cuts of wood. He also prides himself on making sure that the job site is clean and safe for the customer. He attended Algonquin College and studied both construction and carpentry, and then attended Sir Sanford Fleming College and is now a licensed carpenter. Certifications include WHMIS, Fall Protection, CPR/First Aid. On a personal note, Chris is of Dutch background and he enjoys archery, fishing, and boating in his free time.
Brook has over 5 years of experience in the carpentry business and he specializes in detail oriented work and takes pride in putting the proper finishes on the project to best showcase the work of the team. He is an expert in fine carpentry and mill work. He has experience building homes from the ground up, from start to beginning, managing the projects along the way. He excels at time management and works with his team to ensure that projects are completed within realistic timelines. He enjoys seeing the satisfaction in his customers when he shows them the final product, with all the finishes and details in place. He is team player and brings his knowledge of running his family business to the table. In his free time, Brook enjoys motorcycles and motorbike racing.

Her education includes completion of the competitive Interior Decorating Program at Fanshawe College and she also offers expertise in kitchen design, furnishings and material selections. As part of the De Taeye Design team, Amanda will work with you to create and build the home of your dreams.
Mitch attended Courtice Secondary School and plans on attending Fleming College for Winter 2017 entry for carpentry. Mitch also has an interest in becoming an expert in basement waterproofing. With over 5 years of experience in the trades, Mitch previously worked for a pool company helping customer’s turn their dreams of backyard paradises and leisurescapes into reality. Mitch also enjoys going to the cottage, biking, and boating.
